The Castle Rock community abounds with events and festivals that appeal to all tastes and ages.  Highlights include fairs, parades, golf tournaments, rodeos, races and festivals.  True to its heritage, the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo resurrects the “Old West” with a rodeo; old-fashion hometown parade and county fair; amusement rides and country music.

 

Douglas County Rodeo and Fair    Open

The Douglas County Rodeo and Fair July 30-August 7 emphasizes 4-H entries, rodeo and agricultural events and country music entertainment. It is located at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and Events Center. Read more here.


Fair Parade  Open

The Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce sponsors this traditional Fair Parade, in partnership with the Town of Castle Rock.  The Fair Parade and hometown BBQ is August 6.  The Parade exemplifies old-fashioned, small-town charm with over 100 entries consisting of 4-H projects, marching bands, stagecoaches, horses, rodeo queens and dance troupes from all over Colorado. The Parade makes its way through historic downtown Castle Rock followed by a barbecue at the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department on Perry Street. Read more here.

Fido FestOpen

Colorado Artfest at Castle Rock  Open

The weekend after Labor Day, September 10-11, the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce hosts a juried fine arts show with artists from across the country. More than 180 artists gather in historic downtown Castle Rock. This family-friendly event features unique artisans, an Imagination Zone for the kids, continual live main stage entertainment, strolling performers plus mouth-watering food and beverages to tantalize you taste buds.  Call 303-688-4597 or go here.

 

OctoberFest Open

A full day of fun on October 8 features an authentic German band, food and drink, plus vendors and crafts. The Castle Rock Merchants Association coordinates and hosts this annual event on Perry Street in downtown Castle Rock.  Call 303-688-4597 or go here.

Castle Rock Starlighting Ceremony Open

The Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce and Fire Department together have been “illuminating” the famous, giant star on top of Castle Rock for 76 years. There are carriage rides, hot chocolate and caroling, while children eagerly await Santa Claus’ annual visit.  The Starlighting Ceremony takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, November 19, on Wilcox Square to usher in the holiday season.  Call 303-688-4597 or go here.
